Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DATE YOU PUBLISH]
Before you publish: this is a working draft written to match exactly what this site does. It is not legal advice. Fill in the date above, and if you later add advertising or analytics this policy must be updated before you switch them on.
The short version
We do not have accounts, we do not have a database, and we never receive your seating plans or your guests' names. Everything you create in the planner is stored inside your own web browser and stays there. There is no advertising on this site, no analytics and no tracking of any kind.
What the planner stores on your device
The planner uses your browser's local storage. This is not a cookie, it is never transmitted anywhere, and it is the only thing this site stores:
| Name | What it holds | How long |
|---|---|---|
weddingVenuePlanner.v1 |
Your hall dimensions, tables, objects and any guest names you have typed into seats | Until you clear it or clear your browser data |
This is strictly necessary: without it the planner could not do the one thing you opened it for, which is remember your layout. It is therefore used without asking for separate consent, as permitted for strictly necessary storage. You can erase it at any time with the Clear everything button in the planner, or by clearing site data in your browser settings.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all. That is also why you were not shown a cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to.
Guest names are your responsibility
If you type your guests' names into seats, you are storing other people's personal data on your own device. We never see it. You decide what to type, how long to keep it and whether to export it to a file. If you share an exported file, you are sharing whatever names it contains, so treat it like any other guest list.
Server logs
The site is served as static files by the hosting provider. Like any web host, they process technical data automatically when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, your browser type and the referring page. This is used to deliver the site and to keep it secure, on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating it safely. We do not read these logs to build profiles and we do not combine them with anything else.
Analytics and advertising
There are none. No Google Analytics, no tracking pixel, no heatmap tool, no ad network and no third-party scripts. Every file this site loads comes from this site. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change goes live.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not send marketing email — we could not, as we never collect an address.
- We do not use your seating plans for anything, including training software.
- We do not require you to identify yourself to use the planner.
Children
This site is intended for adults planning events. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top will be updated.
